Street Views

Ever look down and notice the patterns on streets and sidewalks?  Lately I've noticed a lot of cracks, lines and deteriorating paint.

Then some patterns reminded me of crosses, so the following are inspired by the pavement and crack patterns.

More Flora and Fauna

Our animal friends are good at hiding.  This frog is out in the open but he hopes you don't see him.  You can see this painting at the ArtistXchange gallery during the month of March.

Fauna Diversity

The amazing animal kingdom has such a variety of creatures.  It is fun to try to capture them on canvas so they can be part of interior decoration.

The fish head that wouldn't die

"Resurrected"
5" x 7"
Acrylic on Canvas
in the collection of Kerry Wingeier

Last year my husband and I dined at Evvia, a fabulous Greek restaurant in Palo Alto. The whole fish we had was delicious and the head of the fish was so scary that I took it home and photographed it. Finally got around to painting it and my artist friend liked it so much it is now hers.

Noe Valley Ministry Art Show Today

Today was the reception for the Golden Gate Artists show entitled "Small Gems" with entertainment by Pawel Walerowski and his violinist friend, whose name I don't know.  We had a good turnout for our 9th art show together.  The music was beautiful.

The Spirit moved me

It started as some random paint on canvas from which an emotion would emerge, and I could not shake the feeling of two emotions, perhaps joy and despair or maybe love and fear.  As it evolved, it became celestial, inspired by a Biblical worldview and images from the Hubble telescope.  The final piece may be viewed as the entire human history, an autobiography or even a moment in time.  Whatever the time frame, Jesus lived, died and rose again to show us that we can choose be free of fear and despair and enter into love and joy with a hope for the future by following him.
